Fastest Growing Plant

What is the fastest growing plant? You might guess a common garden weed, or perhaps a form of ivy. However, the fastest growing plant is, in fact, bamboo!

Bamboo is not only quick to grow, though. It is extremely useful for landscaping and architecture and is quite beautiful. The problem for some applications, however, is that certain types of bamboo can be difficult to control. That is why Palmco grows only clumping bamboo, which is far easier to maintain. It grows fast and tall, but it does not take over an area the same way running bamboo does.

What Are the Benefits of Clumping Bamboo?

Many people avoid using bamboo in their landscapes because they fear that the plant will run rampant, spreading far beyond its intended space. This is not true for clumping bamboos, which are very predictable in terms of their size and shape. The distinction between pachymorph (clumping) bamboos and leptomorph (running) bamboos is the way they behave underground.
